And if you’re feeling too lazy to go all the way to the store, you could just start brewing your own beer… learn how with the
Having spent a decent time in the Pacific Northwest, Nick being a native and I a 5 year transplant, are all about getting our buzz in an environmentally conscious way. That’s why we love the upcycle, taking materials that would otherwise be waste and turning them into new, useful items. Our favorite upcycle is the beer bottle glass:
An odd paradox lies within traveling and tourism. I can’t stand tourists. I don’t even know what it is exactly, maybe their ignorance, maybe their fanny packs and visors. Either way, I have little to no patience for them.
I do, however, love to travel and explore – I am constantly a tourist. Even though I try my hardest to keep my mouth shut and blend in, I’m sure I am just as obnoxious to locals as the other map carrying, picture taking idiots.
It is for this reason that I actually seek out that little bit of distain from the locals. If you’re in a neighborhood where everyone is smiling and trying to sell you something, you are in the wrong place. If you are in a bar where people are giving you dirty or inquisitive looks, wondering who the hell you are and why the hell you’re there, then you’ve found something off the beaten path – you’ve found something local.
Assuming you’re somewhat like me, (a lover of beer, and going to avoid the hop-on-hop-off bus at all costs) the next time you’re in Prague you want to insure U ZLATÉHO TYRGRA (The Golden Tiger) is at the top of your list.
It’s Official! 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is now home to a presidential brewery paid for by Barack Obama. Their White House Honey Ale is made with the honey from Michelle’s beehive.
Lets be real. You’re not in Brussels to see the headquarters of the EU, you didn’t come for the mussels, and you don’t give a damn about the statue of that pissing kid.
You’re in Brussels to drink Belgian beer, and there is one place in particular you’d be a fool to miss.
Talk to anyone in the know and they’ll point you in the right direction. But be prepared, this place is no ordinary bar, it’s an institution. If you’re a beer lover in the capital of Belgian Beer than Delirium Cafe should be at the top of your list!
I’ve been living in Europe for about a year now and every European I know rips on the beer in the US. Little do they know there exists a part of America where beer doesn’t get watterd down, or taste like urine.
That place is Oregon. And here are 5 Oregonian Breweries that’ll blow your mind:
I’ve put Hair of the Dog first on this list because chances are you’ve never heard of them.
